Illness and Forgiveness

إنَّ العبدَ إذا مَرِضَ أوْحَى اللهُ إلى ملائكتِه : أنا قَيَّدْتُ عبدِي بِقَيْدٍ من قُيُودِي، فإِنْ أقْبِضُهُ أغْفِرْ له، و إنْ أُعافِيهِ فحِينَئِذٍ يَقْعُدُ لا ذَنْبَ لَهُ

If a servant of Allah gets sick, Allah tells His Angels: ‘I have bound My servant with shackles, so if I cause him to die I shall forgive him,  and if I release him, then he is without any sins.’
